If I have calculated it all correctly the maximum possible latency I could receive with my current settings is 47,66 ms because (80+160+2048)/48000 = 0,04766. I have set all playback and recording devices to 48khz/24bit and the max latency on all vb-cables to 2048 smp. Im also wondering if its true that if I double the sample rate and also double the buffers I will get the same latency but with higher quality? but I didnt quite understand everything written.Īnd I dont understand if the buffers in voicemeeter applies to both hardware and virtual inputs or just the hardware inputs, meaning that virtual inputs would have a slightly lower latency? I read about how to optimize latency etc. Now what I am wondering is what kind of latency in ms I am getting when using voicemeeters virtual inputs together with the vb-cables.

For now Im just using it as an audio repeater for my mic, virtual inputs, vb-cable and vb-cable a+b. In control panel I have my speakers set as the default playback device but I also tried changing this to the virtual audio cable with no luck.I am currently using the voicemeeter potato beta version. I feel like the root cause of the issue is I have no idea how to get a virtual audio cable's output to also play through my speakers.

Like if a character raises their voice or screams then it will distort. It becomes distorted easily when something loud happens on screen. Audio is great on everything else I use on my TV except for my cable box. How can I get reaper's live monitor to play back the effects through my speakers so that I can hear it before I record it in OSB? I want to just sit here for some time tweaking plugins to get a good sound for my voice, but I can't do this without first recording it in OSB and playing it back, which is killing me. I have my cable box connected to my TV via HDMI, and an optical digital cable running from my TV to my sound bar. My modified voice from reaper is getting output through OBS's audio channel and things are good. I have OBS set to use the virtual cable as mic input.Īt this point, things work correctly. I verified by hitting Apply, Ok, and then switching to the Recording tab. There is a little Mute button and mine had a red X. I have reaper configured to use my microphone as input and the virtual cable as output. Then look for the Virtual Audio Cable (CABLE-A Input in my case) in the list of Playback Devices. Reaper (real time ability to modify my voice): I'm starting to get into streaming and I'm not quite an audio wizard, but here's what I have so far:
